April Critique Session:
Max Hale breezed in and gave his Artist/Teacher’s opinion of some 33 works by members on the evening of 1st of April. Even though it was past noon, the jokes were there, most often on us…only kidding….sort of…
Max was clear and decisive in his pronouncements, although too much centred on saying simply what the image was. Some member’s present were cheered, while others shed a silent tear and took it on the chin. Those gathered benefited from Max’s extensive background in painting and sculpting in the assessments given.
To our credit the work provided for him to review was wide-ranging in both medium, subject, style and ability; true of what we stand for as a Society.
Hillworth Park Cafe
With the weather going back to the uncertain kind, even more reason to make any day a good one to go into the warmth there, enjoy a cuppa & view the excellent art.
New Committee Member Needed
Bev Usher has had to step down as our Advertising and Meetings Media Person and we would like one or two members to step up and fill his place.
We already have a very good relationship with a local printer and, for this year we have a number of printing needs met. Naturally, this first part of the post is for an artistic person, one who is happy to use a computer and send material, approved by the committee, to the printer and pick it up for use.
Meetings Media Person
: Will have responsibility for the setting up of the lighting, camera, projector and laptop for each demonstration and talk. The wires are all marked and the set up simple enough if you have used two or more of these before. Storing the kit is also part of this role.
Please e-mail, call or see one of the committee to join our happy band.
We take this opportunity to thank Bev for his friendship and the artistic,
thoughtful and superb work for our Society
Final Work on Exhibition Boards and Legs Completed
Our thanks to Jean Perrett and Nick Hunt for the great work they did in completing the painting of the rest of our Exhibition Boards and re-positioning the hooks on the legs from which to hang them
We still need a new home for our exhibition display equipment, as Mr Fussell, who has kindly lent us space in his garage, is moving house.
It would only take up one twelve foot section of wall and two feet out from that.
Please contact the committee.
Participation in The Urchfont Group’s Art Exhibition

As and innovative and contemporary artist and teacher, he will challenge your senses and lead you into another new area to contemplate and engage in. Be prepared to be amazed by this demonstration of an ancient technique, as practised by the Greeks, focussing on abstracts, flowers, seascapes and landscapes.
